CURRENT SCENARIOS IN THE ROMANIAN AGRI-FOOD TRADE INSIDE THE EU

Since the beginning of the 2000s there has been an intense territorial expansion of the EU, being that the member countries increased from 15 to 27 units in 2007. Each membership carries various benefits as a result of trade liberalization.For the agri-food industry the process of free trade is more complex than that of manufactured goods and services on which tariff and non-tariff barriers (such as food security) do not obstruct the path of commercial development. However, the compatibility with Community policies, albeit with processes that require different phases of adjustment, trigger the application of agri-food products especially those with higher added value.This paper examines the structure of trade in some of the main agri-food products in Romania with the European Union, describing the underlying trends before and after the recognition of Member State of the Community since 2007. Processed and non processed average data research results were taken from the UN Comtrade Harmonized System Code (HS Code).
