Ruolo del Parco Regionale Naturale delle Madonie (Sicilia) nella mitigazione del rischio desertificazione

In this paper the AA. characterize the risk of desertification of the territories belonging to the Regional Natural Park of the Madonie. In the comparison between the two-periods under study, it is possible to verify a significant increase of the territories in lower sensitivity class, and a reset of those in the critical sensitivity class in the second half of the 20th century.Results showed that Land Management and the Quality of Vegetation are the most important positive factors affecting on the mitigation of desertification process.

In questo lavoro gli autori caratterizzano il rischio desertificazione dei territori su cui insiste il Parco Regionale Naturale delle Madonie. Nel confronto fra i due periodi oggetto di studio, emerge un notevole incremento dei territori in classe non minacciato e un azzeramento della classe critico. I fattori che hanno generato i miglioramenti territoriali più significativi appartengono alla Qualità della Vegetazione e alla Qualità di Gestione del Territorio.
