The European wine policy is characterized by a set of measures grouped in separate areas of intervention that over the years have experienced different seasons of reforms. While waiting for the new guidelines on new prospects for implementing the policies of the wine sector after 2013, in the present this work have been evaluated the main defining elements of the evolution of the wine CMO, that in the last reform shows a disciplinary framework rather dynamic and flexible. Moreover, the integrated connection territorial development, resulting from the application of the CAP, would have required a search for a more adequate instruments provided for the management of production potential compared to the scale of the financial resources available and the extension of the time period for the paying out. The remaining work explores key aspects of the implementation of the new CMO in Sicily, highlighting the structural aspects and the main measures of success, namely on the restructuring and conversion of vineyards and the one on the green harvest.
