Die Wassernutzung im Freiburg im spaeten Mittelalter und der fruehen Neuzeit

The history of social,economic,urban development of the town of Freiburg has always been linked to the utilization of the water of the Dreisam river. The position of the town at the foot of the western slope of the Black Forest and the depth of the water-bearing stratum made necessary the development of an infrastructure system that brought water into the town from the surrounding hills. From the first half of the fourteenth century to the second half of the sixteenth century the city governement promoted a lot of works to utilize water in its multifunctional aspects ,from the fountain system to the field irrigation and draining of sewage. In the same time the water-element became a subject for a legal argument as the one that involved the Augustinian monks and the town council about the authority to build a private fountain inside the monastery in 1317.

La storia dello sviluppo urbano, sociale ed economico della città di Friburgo è sempre stato strettamente collegato all'utilizzo delle acque del fiume Dreisam. La collocazione di questa città ai piedi del versante occidentale della Foresta Nera e la profondità delle falde acquifere rendevano necessario lo sviluppo di un sistema di infrastrutture che, dalle colline circostanti, portava l'acqua all'interno del centro urbano. Dalla prima metà del secolo XIV alla seconda metà del secolo XVI, il governo cittadino promosse tutta una serie di opere destinate ad utilizzare l'elemento-acqua nella sua multifunzionalità, dal sistema delle fontane a quello di irrigazione dei campi e di smaltimento dei rifiuti e delle acque reflue. Allo stesso tempo, l'elemento acqua divenne oggetto di contesa giuridica, come quella che nel 1317 contrappose i monaci agostiniani al consiglio cittadino sulla facoltà di installare una fontana per uso privato all'interno del monastero.
