Abstract

The performance of a sun-care product was evaluated. Attention was focused on the ability to prevent skin damage, evaluated as redn. of UV-induced skin erythema. Moreover the photostability of the formulation after UV irradn. has been investigated, as a further index of good performance of the product. In fact, due to its particular formulation (UVA-UVB broad spectrum filters, as well as reflecting pigments and superoxide dismutase and peroxidase in a liposome complex), the product allows to reach an optimal skin protection through a large synergetic activity of the single compds.
