Volcanic tremor at Mount Etna - a brief description. In: Mount Etna Volcano, Seismological researches on Mount Etna: State of art and recent trends

In this paper we report the results of seismological studies recently conducted at Mt. Etna by Italian and foreign researchers. By the use of advanced methods, detailed studies have been carried out on the deep structurcs of the volcano and the related seismic phenomena. Such studies could be useful in understanding magma ascent mechanisms. A model for the source of the volcanic tremor is proposed as well as a sketch of the plumbing system of the volcano.
