This work focuses, in an unusual way, on the Cathedral square in Acireale, for its symbolic value and its centrality in the image of the urban city. The study was made with the understanding that the square as a whole, is not the sum of individual architectural episodes, but the slow evolution of an organism in which the individual parts relate to each other. Its function as road junction, historical and cultural, from which branch off the two main axes, is faced with the drawing and representation tools, integrating various techniques. Architectural survey for urban-scale design, 3D digital reconstruction for the spatiality of the square, with image based techniques, developed with the "Structure from Motion (SFM)" software and integrated with dense matching algorithms. Here follows the first results of the work developed in the context of some research about the survey, representation and documentation of the historical centers of eastern Siciliy.
