The experience of teaching offers us an opportunity to reflect, through the study of specific cases, on broader questions regarding methods; it also allows us to examine new research where different disciplines are involved. The issues discussed in university classrooms become a starting point for shared research, not only with the scientific experts involved but also with students who, in such circumstances, go from being learners into participants in the evolutionary knowledge process, pure and simple. Furthermore, some regenerative and innovative teaching mechanisms can be gleaned from research. Teaching at university level should include experimental workshops; in this way, the teaching process can evolve into applied research.
