In this article, I succumbed to the temptation to read Vittorio Villa’s last book (Disaccordi interpretativi profondi) through the lenses given by authors which played the philosophical game following rules that are different from those used within the analytical (and post-analytical) tradition. In particular, I mean two authors: Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno and Jacques Derrida. Indeed, I detected a true dialectic sensibility in the way followed by Villa to go beyond the sterile opposition between relativism and objectivism, supporting the reasons for a “moderate relativism”. Besides, I perceived a deconstructive trail, rather than a mere pragmatic or hermeneutic one, in his movement away from a monolithic view of the “background context”, towards a fragmented and divided context, dynamically articulated in sub-contexts.
