Misurare l’integrazione: una proposta di indicatore composito

In this paper we propose a composite indicator by aggregating objective indicators weighted by subjective indicators. Employing multilevel models, we use individual data as1-level units nested into 2-level units in order to estimate contextual effects on the subjective measure of immigrants integration as dependent variable. Then, we compare theeffects of three models, each one with a different 2-level covariate, evaluating the ICC decrease: the higher is the decrease, the higher is the contextual effect related to the 2-levelcovariate in the model. Doing so, we obtain different weights employed to construct a composite indicator of integration. In this aim, we use ISMU survey data, collected in 32 Italian provinces as subjective indicators to weight objective indicators of CNEL Report.
