Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the role of franglais from a lexicographic perspective. I will analyse and comment on the lexicographic choices made in the revised versions of two monolingual dictionaries (Le Petit Robert and Le Petit Larousse) through a corpus of anglicisms taken from French newspapers. This will help investigate the relationship between norm and usage, in the light of French prescriptive language policies.
