This paper deals with the study of reciprocal interconnections between public urban spaces and virtual networks fostered by anti-globalization movements of protests and urban revolts that have been recently moulding new geopolitical sceneries at the global scale. On one hand the work aims at deepening the patterns of mobilitation and the practices of self-representation used by contemporary movements thanks to the unprecedented possibilities of communication provided by ICT’s. On the other, the analysis is focused on the role played by public urban spaces in shaping the ways which such movements of protests build their own narratives with. Thus, the paper traces the evolution of the influences between urban and virtual networks during different protests, ranging from the Paris riots of 2005 to the Hong Kong Occupy Central of 2014.
