Abstract

The landscape is the inextricable dimension of the “urban being” and communal life. The contribution tries to define the axiology of the historic city which is jeopardised by phenomena of abandonment and misunderstood processes of redevelopment. It introduces the essential elements of: an axiology of reality centred on the notion of limit, on the grounds of a socio-systemic approach which defines the ontology of the city; an axiology of the city centred on the notion of capital, whose accumulation is dependent on the natural disposition of the city to persist; an axiology of value centred on the notion of evaluation, based on the connection between facts and values; an axiology of time centred on the function of the capitalization rate meant as inter-generational and intra-generational solidarity rate
