We have performed FISH analysis, using the Locus Specific Identifier FOX1 Break Apart Probe (Vysis-Abbot) which hibridizes to band 13q14, to better classify the oral cavity tumor. Notably, monoallelic loss of the FOX1/13q14 locus was detected in 50% of cell population. Based on this novel finding we think that the tumor originally labeled as “polypoid angiomyofibroblastoma-like tumour of oral cavity” could be better re-classified as small round cell variant of myofibroblastoma.

Abstract
We have performed FISH analysis, using the Locus Specific Identifier FOX1 Break Apart Probe (Vysis-Abbot) which hibridizes to band 13q14, to better classify the oral cavity tumor. Notably, monoallelic loss of the FOX1/13q14 locus was detected in 50% of cell population. Based on this novel finding we think that the tumor originally labeled as “polypoid angiomyofibroblastoma-like tumour of oral cavity” could be better re-classified as small round cell variant of myofibroblastoma.File in questo prodotto:
