12C5+ ion beam delivered by Superconducting Cyclotron of LNS-INFN (Catania, Italy) at energy of 62 MeV/nucleon has been used to irradiate dry seeds of Vigna radiata. After irradiation, seeds were sowed and the growth of each single seed was followed for six days after sowing. Different doses, ranging from 50 to 7000 Gy, were used in order to study the effect of dose on seedling growth. Abstract
In parallel, delayed luminescence (DL) from each seed was measured before and after the irradiation. DL signal features were correlated to seedling growth and so to dose effect.
