The paper addresses aspects that concern the teaching-learning of music history currently present in Italian secondary schools. Therefore, it is part of the considerations on the didactics of music history, one of the three transposition practices (listening didactics, production didactics, music history didactics) upon which some musicological research in Italy has concentrated. It focuses on the contents and methods for the transposition of historical-musical knowledge in connection with a model for music education aimed at the comprehension of music as culture. Secondly, it proposes an example of didactic transposition that focuses on a piece from the melodrama I Puritani (1835) composed by Vincenzo Bellini, libretto by Carlo Pepoli: it is «Suoni la tromba e intrepido» from the Giorgio-Riccardo duet «Il rival salvar tu dei» (Act II, scene 4). The lesson has been devised with senior secondary school students in mind and could also turn out to be useful when dealing with crucial topics of European history from an inter-disciplinary perspective (musical works and political events during the Risorgimento). It is organised on two levels: the first on listening didactics and the second on the passage from listening didactics to music history.

Abstract
It is organised on two levels: the first on listening didactics and the second on the passage from listening didactics to music history.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
