The aim of this contribution is to reconstruct the characteristics of the so-cal- led “Neo-Aristotelianism” of Martha Nussbaum. It also purports to verify whether the recourse to Aristotle as a source of inspiration for her theory for an egalitarian, liberal and social democracy, is correct and comprehensive, or, on the contrary, if it represents a forced as well as anachronistic interpretation of the Stagirite’s thought.
