This paper deals with aspects concerning the methodology of the Didactics of History of Music. The first part introduces some functional requirements of the subjects; the second one focuses on an example of a learning unit, based on "Bambini che giocano" ("Children at Play") by Bèla Bartok, which aims to extend the historical-musical knowledge, supported also by a listening didactic approach.
