My article is focused on a Sicilian author, Ibn al-Sabbag of whom very little is known who embarked on writing epistles in rhymed prose. The article seeks to be a first contribution to the study of a figure who is not at all known and to a literary genre much cultivated by Arab authors operating in the island – letter-writing – a genre that provides evidence regarding interesting aspects of public and private life of the period.
