Abstract
The OPC Unified Architecture is a standard, worldwide and vendor-independent specification which allows the data exchange between industrial applications and devices through a complex software infrastructure. The impact of the overhead introduced by the OPC UA communications layers may be not trivial and a performance evaluation of OPC UA specification seems necessary. For this reason, the paper presents the evaluation of the impact of some of the main features of the OPC UA specification on the communication between industrial applications and devices.File in questo prodotto:
