This paper describes the proton irradiation campaign, performed at the INFN "Laboratori Nazionali del Sud" (LNS), on a silicon microstrip detector. The irradiated module is identical to the ones which are used to assemble the tracker inner barrel of the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Abstract
