Abstract

This work reports the first results concerning the electrical and optical performances of new 2D prototype matrices of single photon avalanche diodes for imaging applications. The new solution has been proposed in order to simplify the electronic readout complexity, that is a rows × columns readout strategy characterized by 2n reading channels instead of n2. The time performances obtained during preliminary tests show that this new architecture is good to acquire time resolved image with single photon sensitivity
