The paper proposes a methodology for the examination of the condition of the small historic center, severely damaged by earthquake in 2009, setting up of a detailed investigation directedly aimed at verifying the possibility of re-using houses in safety while preserving their appearance and their historical material substance. The suggested procedure is aimed to collect a deep knowledge that produces a close relationship between buildings and the change interventions necessary for its conservation.
