Updates on integrated control of crop pests Pest management requires frequent adjustments following the variations in the specific composition of pests affecting major crops and other plants in forestry and urban habitats. Such changes are mainly linked to biological and ecological factors (i.e. global warming, resistance to chemicals, behaviour modification etc.), as well as to the recent European Union revision process on registrations of active compounds for phytosanitary control in agriculture and to accidental introductions of alien invasive pest species into different agrosystems. This phenomenon has been greatly increasing in Italy, particularly in the last two decades, and it represents a serious threat to plants both in cultivated and natural ecosystems, considering also the risk of new potential accessions.
