Born in Vienna from a Jewish family that migrated to the United States after living in China and Israel, with Alphabetical Africa the authour has written a post-colonial parable from the vantage point of the hyphenated writer. At one time misplaced Austrian and American author, in the letter “A" at the beginning and the end of the novel he has also inscribed a private, textualized autobiography in the wake of Kafka's Castle and Amerika.
