The growing use of social networks and cloud communities in planning tourism contributes to social description of island landscapes, influencing the collective imaginary (Lefebvre, 2000; Cosgrove, 1984; Carrington, et al., 2005). The aim of this research was to contribute to an interpretation of the relationship between tourism and collective representation of landscape and to achieve an empirical survey on information sharing in virtual spaces. The cases of Sicily and Ireland have been considered.
