The present work concerns the possibility of sEe isotope identification using the 4pi CHIMERA multidetector system at LNS INFN in Catania for reactions 124Sn + 64Ni and 112Sn + 58Ni at 35A MeV (REVERSE campaign). The 8Be ion can be detected only by two alpha decay channel. All alpha particles from 8Be decay are placed in a cone with the maximum angle, which is greater than the angle covered by a single telescope of the CHIlVIERA apparatus. The 8Be can be found as a separate line on the two-dimensional plot "slow-fast" of a single CsI(Tl) detector. The other supplementary method bases on coincidences between 2 alpha particles detected in two adjoining detectors. The total number of 8Be isotopes is a sum of 8Be collected directly in the central detector (2a-line) and a half of 2 alpha particles coincidences with all neighbouring detectors. We can also get 8Be energy spectrum.

Abstract
We can also get 8Be energy spectrum.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
