Their works, written in the course of these two centuries, can be indeed considered privileged sources to follow the evolution of Christian- ity from a «religio» with a universalistic tendency, not recognizing borders nor races, to a national «religio» strongly indentifying its followers politically and territorially.

Abstract
The difficult passage from the Roman to the Merovingian Age and, among other things, from the Catholicism of the Gaul-Roman churches to the Gaul- Frankish one, took place in Gaul between the V and the VI century. This es- say focuses mainly on Salvianus Massiliensis, Sidonius Apollinaris and Grego- rius Turonensis. Their works, written in the course of these two centuries, can be indeed considered privileged sources to follow the evolution of Christian- ity from a «religio» with a universalistic tendency, not recognizing borders nor races, to a national «religio» strongly indentifying its followers politically and territorially.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
