The geographical location of shi'i groups and their consequent evolution in communities and schools in Iran, before the Safavids, is a prominent item. The structure of "the imami community" in Qumm during the 'Ali al-Rida times, according to the literature of 'ilm al-rijal is the main purpose of this study. The possible meanings of the "technical" terms of these sources in relation to the ashab al-imam al-Rida are the starting point in defining the relationship between the imam and the sahib, between the rawi and the "community".
