This paper presents a low cost approach for structural and seismic monitoring with the aim of developing an Early Warning System. The proposed architecture is based on a customized network of multi-sensor nodes equipped with inertial sensors and a microcontroller architecture aimed to signal processing and the management of data transfer. Results presented highlight the suitability of the developed multi-sensor node and the proposed monitoring network for real applications in the field of the EW of seismic and structural related alerts.

Abstract
