This contribution addresses the problem of the maximization of the wireless power transfer of a Bessel-shaped beam, operating in the radiative near-field region (Fresnel region), through a planar dielectric stratification. A theoretical model and a suitable spectral figure of merit are introduced to quantify the amount of beam power that is successfully delivered beyond the multilayer. The proposed approach finds applications in bioelectromagnetics and in microwave heating, especially for field focusing in complex environments.

Abstract

This contribution addresses the problem of the maximization of the wireless power transfer of a Bessel-shaped beam, operating in the radiative near-field region (Fresnel region), through a planar dielectric stratification. A theoretical model and a suitable spectral figure of merit are introduced to quantify the amount of beam power that is successfully delivered beyond the multilayer. The proposed approach finds applications in bioelectromagnetics and in microwave heating, especially for field focusing in complex environments.
