The book aims at an overall reading Pirandello's work - from essays to poems, from novels and tales to theater - in a highly innovative viewpoint, which places the center of the Hermeneutic the icon of Ecce Homo typical of Sicilian folk religion. In this context figures, names and numbers of the cosmos Pirandello are reinterpreted, while tracking the relations with the European literature and philosophy - from Montaigne to Pascal, from Shakespeare to Dostoevsky - and with the great Christian tradition, represented primarily by the Bible and the Fathers of the Church.
