Reduce, Recycle, Reuse. Arti performative per il recupero dello spazio urbano.

Reduce_Recycle_Reuse, three ideas investigated in a transversal way between art and theatre as efficient actions for the urban recovering, retracing the limit, yet transient, between show and visual arts, responsible of the deep changes of the contemporary performing spaces. The design of the recycle and the technologies that support it mark the planning approach for the integration in the urban space of new qualities of use by the introduction of temporary recreational structures that can play, at the same time, the role of redevelopment agent of the Urban Space, inviting and involving the inhabitant and the user of the disused places of the city. These spaces, making them attractive by installations, are the physical support of a work in progress in which the native waste keeps enriching the space that follows the rules detected by the project. The experimentation was carried out in an exclusively performing perspective: with the use of the body as recyclable material, giving birth to installations morphologically not given a priori, and giving birth to practicable shows that disclose and reveal the relational potentialities between physical and user context; with the use of the text, reworking and reusing the heritage of what has been said yet, in a revitalizing action of the language and a new sharing of the contents. The volume gathers the seminar contributions and the results of the international workshops of the course Space Theatre 2010-2011, which took place in Syracuse and in Seville, in a twinning between the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Catania and the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of Seville.

Reduce_Recycle_Reuse, tre concetti indagati trasversalmente tra arte e teatro come azioni efficaci per il recupero urbano, ripercorrendo il confine, ormai labile, tra spettacolo e arti visive responsabile del profondo cambiamento degli spazi performativi contemporanei. Il design del riciclo e le tecnologie che lo sostengono segnano l’approccio progettuale per l’integrazione nello spazio urbano di nuove qualità d’uso attraverso l’immissione di strutture ludiche temporanee in grado di svolgere al contempo il ruolo di riqualificatori dello spazio urbano, invitando e coinvolgendo l’abitante ed il fruitore nei luoghi quasi dismessi della città. Tali spazi, resi attraenti dalle installazioni, costituiscono il sostegno fisico di un work in progress in cui lo scarto indigeno continua ad arricchire lo spazio seguendo le regole individuate dal progetto. La sperimentazione è stata condotta in una prospettiva prettamente performativa: con l’uso del corpo come materiale riciclabile, dando vita ad installazioni morfologicamente non date a priori e spettacoli transitabili, che svelano e rivelano le potenzialità relazionali fra contesto fisico e fruitore; con l’uso del testo, rilavorando e riusando l’eredità del già detto, in un’azione di rivitalizzazione del linguaggio e nuova condivisione dei contenuti. Il volume raccoglie i contributi seminariali e gli esiti dei workshop internazionali del corso Spazio Teatro 2010-2011, tenuti a Siracusa e a Siviglia, in un gemellaggio tra la Facoltà di Architettura dell’Università di Catania e la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura di Siviglia.
