Abstract
The monograph is devoted to the complex reality of the disintegration of the ancient world, which resulted in the formation of an 'other' world, the world of Late Antiquity: The survey originates from the interest for epochal transformation, made by the "revolutionary" Constantine and the "imperial theology", which determined the demilitarization of the image of the ruler and the rise of a new female empowerment. These phenomena, which involved, among other things, the christian ritualization of social behaviour are examined, according to the perspective of the Braudelian longue durée, in their effects at different levels, among which you can appreciate the reframing of some models, reflex of changing political needs. The study points out, in particular, the creation of new behavioral paradigms and oppositional to each other, which sprang from the struggle between the various "holy places" and the different poles of power. When, in fact, with the full Christianization of the empire, there was a typically axial culture, characterized by faith in a higher order, transcending every mundane reality, the clergy increasingly and openly manifested his aggression, arising from the negotiating power acquired, versus institutions, perceived as related to the saeculum. The analysis, in fact, highlights the new vision of itself, which society at that time had, a 'otherwise divided' society between egentes and new patrons. It was recognized in an imagine, specified by new interests, defined by new needs and identified by new emotions. Imagine that masked old power’ games with the new words of the policy, borrowed from the now prevalent Biblical code, sagaciously placed at the service of the new ruling classes for their legitimacy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
