Analyses of donkey breeding buildings to define new planning criteria

Farm buildings for donkey breeding were analysed at three pilot farms in Sicily (Italy) byobserving their management and their environmental and functional performance. The studyhighlights how buildings for horses and milk cows are frequently used. Even though they doanswer some requirements for donkeys others fall short needing appropriate adaptation. So,useful planning criteria have been given for new equipment which principally take intoaccount the requirements of health/hygiene and animal transit.
