Time series of the frequency of volcanic seismic events have been measured at the two South Italian volcanoes Mt. Etna and Stromboli and were investigated for tidal triggering and other periodities. The largest single data set contains nearly 14000 seismic events. Evidence for tidal triggering is completely absent in the Stromboli series; we cannot, however, reject the possibility of tidal triggering of the seismic events on Mt. Etna.

Abstract
Time series of the frequency of volcanic seismic events have been measured at the two South Italian volcanoes Mt. Etna and Stromboli and were investigated for tidal triggering and other periodities. The largest single data set contains nearly 14000 seismic events. Evidence for tidal triggering is completely absent in the Stromboli series; we cannot, however, reject the possibility of tidal triggering of the seismic events on Mt. Etna.File in questo prodotto:
