The research about historical centre of Lentini, directed to determine threshold of feasibility in thefield of the building and urban recovery, mainly it aims to give a knowledge of the characters that stillremain and confer a peculiarity to urban space, in the present as well as in the past, these characters aremenaced by casual plans and by the neglect.It is an urban system made of antiquity, with the cultural peculiarity of its own, and of new, where it isdifficult to find some qualities and where the maintenance of the historical building must to bring thenew citizens’ demands to account that ask to make a real use of this, in conformity with some essentialqualifications of the contemporary life.The study is organized three parts:I. the first regards the critical understanding of the historical events that have determined theforming and the evolution of the town up to the present physique and social configuration;II. the second part examines the historical centre from the building and urban point of view;III. in the third part, the elaboration of information specifies the threshold of feasibility of therecovery process, these are not only understood in according to the usual economic meaning butalso with reference to the cultural and social character that have produced them.
