In the second half of the twentieth century, thermal and wellness tourism attracted a significant segment of tourist demand, both domestic and foreign. This study provides a profile of the thermal sector in Italy. Specifically an analysis of promotional websites produced to examine the strategic and tourism choices operated. The methodology used, with the necessary adaptations, was the extension of the model of adoption of Parsons. The model shows how the sites are evolving from a state passing static to a dynamic to improve the quality of online communication. Results may help the planners of destinations to define better promotional strategies and to maximise the advantages of using the internet.

The model shows how the sites are evolving from a state passing static to a dynamic to improve the quality of online communication. Results may help the planners of destinations to define better promotional strategies and to maximise the advantages of using the internet.
