The acquisition of structural responses and environmental factors is a fundamental step toward determining the dynamic characteristics, the stability and the soundness of large existing structures. Accelerations and displacements are the most commonly measured responses. The indirect estimation of dynamic displacements from acceleration measurements suffers from low accuracy due to the integration amplification of the low-frequency noise in the original acceleration measurement. On the other hand, the traditional direct methods for measuring the displacement show common main drawbacks as the high costs and the synchronization issues when multiple points are required.

Abstract
The acquisition of structural responses and environmental factors is a fundamental step toward determining the dynamic characteristics, the stability and the soundness of large existing structures. Accelerations and displacements are the most commonly measured responses. The indirect estimation of dynamic displacements from acceleration measurements suffers from low accuracy due to the integration amplification of the low-frequency noise in the original acceleration measurement. On the other hand, the traditional direct methods for measuring the displacement show common main drawbacks as the high costs and the synchronization issues when multiple points are required.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
