In recent times, the use of prefabricated modular buildings in the construction sector has been gradually spreading alongside with traditional methods. Often these systems represent a convenient choice because of their many advantages, especially during extraordinary situations where temporary and quick solutions are necessary. Among the advantages provided by using modular buildings, there is in fact an exponential reduction in the times and the number of operations to be carried out on site and, consequently, the reduction of costs connected to them. The assembling process of most of the components takes place in the factory, providing a high quality of the final product and a better control over the manufacturing processes. The choice of prefabricated modular constructions, as opposed to traditional ones, does not provide a lower quality of the building; the recent studies have in fact focused on achieving high levels of energy performance and living comfort. By merging the modular construction techniques and the use of eco-friendly materials, whose producing processes involve low energy consumption and emissions, it is possible to achieve optimal results in terms of environmental sustainability. In fact, by reducing energy and resources consumptions during each phase of the life cycle of the building, from its construction to the potential dismission, it is possible to minimize the environmental impact and to leave the site where the construction was placed unchanged. By taking as a reference the studies conducted so far about modular dwellings, the study described in this paper aims to formulate a system that can provide a suitable and effective answer to today demands. The methodology process involves the theorization of a solution that embodies the search for fast and easy assembling, versatility and sustainability, without neglecting living comfort.

Abstract
The methodology process involves the theorization of a solution that embodies the search for fast and easy assembling, versatility and sustainability, without neglecting living comfort.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
