Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become over the last years one of the main public health problem world-wide. Among European countries Italy has a critical role in AMR due to different critical factors: high antibiotic consumption both in human and veterinary medicine, low adherence to hand hygiene. To contain this problem a group of scientific societies and associations organized a project aiming to identify and fight the key aspects of AMR in the country. We here report the program of the project against antibiotic resistance in Italy
