Acireale nel disegno tra città egemone e subalterna

The ongoing research focuses on the meaning of religious and civil architecture, by the interpretation of historical maps and architectures on the two main streets of the city of Acireale. We are analysing how the urban historical fabric has been a symbol of the hegemonic city, with the“cardo”, and symbol of the subaltern city with the “decumano”. The work is aimed to the interpretation of the significance and development of the city in the history of the last four centuries, with its architectural, historical and social transformations. that represent the culture and the heritage of society, using architectural scale and urban scale drawing and 3D virtual reality.

La ricerca ancora in corso si concentra sul significato dell’architettura religiosa e civile, attraverso la lettura delle mappe storiche e delle architetture sulle due principali strade della città di Acireale. Si è analizzato come il tessuto storico urbano sia stato interpretativo della città egemone, con il suo cardo, e della città subalterna con il decumano. Gli obiettivi perseguiti prevedono tramite il disegno a scala architettonica, a scala urbana e la realtà virtuale 3D, la ri-lettura interpretativa del significato e dello sviluppo della città nella storia degli ultimi quattro secoli, con le sue trasformazioni architettoniche, storiche, sociali, che rappresentano la cultura e quindi il patrimonio della società.
