We propose a method to provide systematic artifact detection in the acoustic emission (AE) analysis. The proposed method demonstrates the feasibility of an integrated approach where specialized processing blocks can be combined together for contributing to the solution of the detection problem by solving a specific task. The experimental validation shows promising results for a reliable assessment of the health status through the monitoring of civil infrastructures.

Abstract
