The circulation of the gray ware in the contexts of the Castelluccio facies: exchange, transfer of knowledge or people circulation? - During the last decades, the researches about the grey-burnished pottery of the Rodì-Tindari-Vallelunga (RTV) style were one of the central topic in the Sicilian prehistoric studies. The debate focused on the presence of this particular class of vessels in the Castelluccian contexts (2300-1450 BC), focusing on the definition of this style and on the op-portunity to consider these complexes as the expression of a facies. This contribution intends to consider the relationships between the communities that wanted to adopt productions, techno-logical systems and stylistic aspects of RTV artisans. It is highlighted the ritual connotation of the complexes used in its social value as an index of belonging to a shared cultural-symbolic space and assertion of identity, which we can lay at the basis of the formation of many ar-chaeological complexes of prehistoric Sicily.

Abstract
It is highlighted the ritual connotation of the complexes used in its social value as an index of belonging to a shared cultural-symbolic space and assertion of identity, which we can lay at the basis of the formation of many ar-chaeological complexes of prehistoric Sicily.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
