Nota su perticarius e sarcitor: due nomi di mestiere di rara attestazione

This contribution analyses two Latin names indicating a trade, namely perticarius and sarcitor. Their oldest attestations are found in inscriptions. Moreover, both are found in the unpublished chapter 14, περὶ τεχνιτῶν, of the Latin-Greek glossary of the so-called Hermeneumata Celtis, one of the versions of the Hermeneumata Pseudodositheana. Here, the pair perticarius κοντοπαίκτης indicates an 'acrobat who balanced a pole on his head'. The term sarcitor, on the other hand, denotes a 'mender of clothes' and can be considered a vulgar variant of sarcinator.
