Covid-19 diseas have been put under extraordinary straining social, economic and public health networks, causing deeply changes in daily lives all over the world. In order to overcome this global crisis, a whole-of-government and whole-of-society response is required. Individuals and political lead- ers are called to put in place strong measures to end the pandemic. The challenge is responding to this world health crises planning an equitable and sustainable recovery for people, economies and the planet as whole. An obvious evidence bringing out since the begin- ning of this destructive pandemic is that cities are at the forefront of this emergency and will be the same in others future health crisis. As a consequence, cit- ies are not only at the front line of response to the pandemic, but also, they are called to set out radical changes from it, starting from their physical form until their economic and social structure. Their new commitment is working to fight the spread of the disease today and for the future, settings new strat- egies, actions, rules, and planning tools aimed to build a post pandemic urban environment able to deal with future health crises. On this perspective, the thematic session of the con- ference Challenges for Education, and Practice in the Post-Covid age, explored several issues related to re- define the roles of urban planning and to prepare planners to the future challenges that cities will face.
