This paper reports the preliminary results obtained within the framework of a project funded by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development related to the definition of a platform for monitoring buildings and infrastructures based on green devices. The platform is based on the sensors included in old smartphones which have reached their end-of-life and relies on the concepts of Building Information Modeling. The guidelines of the platform development, preliminary test acquisitions and the road-map of the project are discussed in this work-in-progress contribution.
