In this contribution, the impact of Cellular Nonlinear Networks (CNNs) research in scientific community is discussed. The history of CNN s in the so-called 'Etna Valley' is shown, remarking as CNNs established a permanent link among various other researches increasing the scientific interests in more topics. Moreover, it is shown as the CNN subject contributed to the cultural development not only among University groups but at large. The fundamental role in the development of the innovation of electronic technologies will be emphasized. The address given by CNNs to various projects will be outlined. The impact on educational projects is remarked. The actual and the future trends of CNNs and applications subject will guarantee open horizons for young generations.
