One of the most interesting properties of graphene oxide is that it is possible to undergo it to reduction processes by the removal of the oxygen-containing functional groups and, consequently, the restoration of the conjugated structure. The aim of this research project has been the launching of a novel innovative approach of GO reduction that consists in the pulsed laser irradiation of a chemically prepared GO colloid. It is possible to demonstrate that this method is able to finely tune the degree of reduction, tailoring the properties and the spectroscopic features of the final reduced graphene oxide suspension. The possibility to manage, through laser-induced reduction, many very important features makes reduced graphene oxides suitable to be used in many fields like, for instance, electronic packaging and water treatment.

Abstract
One of the most interesting properties of graphene oxide is that it is possible to undergo it to reduction processes by the removal of the oxygen-containing functional groups and, consequently, the restoration of the conjugated structure. The aim of this research project has been the launching of a novel innovative approach of GO reduction that consists in the pulsed laser irradiation of a chemically prepared GO colloid. It is possible to demonstrate that this method is able to finely tune the degree of reduction, tailoring the properties and the spectroscopic features of the final reduced graphene oxide suspension. The possibility to manage, through laser-induced reduction, many very important features makes reduced graphene oxides suitable to be used in many fields like, for instance, electronic packaging and water treatment.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
