The general goal of this thesis is the development of new generation photoactivable smart nanomaterials that can be modulated into tremendous way to achieve multimodal anticancer and antimicrobial therapeutic actions. Here the cyclodextrins act as the building block for the development of the nanocarrier in order to convey the therapeutic payload to the desired site. With this goal in mind, we have developed several kinds of nanosystems and are discussed in each chapter. The entire dissertation is divided into four sections based on the types of materials and the sections are further divided into twelve chapters based on the functional behavior of each nanosystems.
